- 1) Roll conditioned polymer
clay into a sheet approximately 3/32" (2.5 mm) thick (i.e.,
widest setting on pasta machine). Wet one side pf rubbing plate
with water and place polymer clay sheet on top of wetted surface.
Roll rubbing plate/polyer clay combo through pasta mahcine on
widest setting, or use brayer to evenly press clay into surface
or rubbing plate.

- 2) Carefully peel clay
off rubbing plate.

- 3) Use Super Slicer or craft
knife to cut out a rectangular bookmark with approximate dimensions
of 5 1/4" x 1 5/8".

- 4) Use tip of drinking
straw to punch hole through top of bookmark.

- 5) Use pad of finger or
soft brush to apply mica pigment to raised surface of textured
bookmark.

- 6) Cure polymer clay bookmark
in oven per manufacturer's directions.

- 7) Embellish bookmark with
tassel looped through hole.

- Other Ideas:
- - Highlight
raised surface of cured bookmark with metallic pigments and acrylic
paints; apply a wash of acrylic paint to add depth.

bookmarks using a variety of fibers, beads, charms, etc.

- - Substitute
paper clay for polymer clay.

- - Advanced polymer
clay technique: Using metallic polymer clay, employ the mica
shift to create a smooth bookmark with the illusion of depth/texture.
